Speaking of new toys

Yes, that is indeed a cat. The house has been too quiet, and since I’m not about to go and buy a baby (they’re not as easy to litter train, apparently), nor can I keep a dog (highly allergic), it was either a cat or an airhorn with a random timer. And airhorns don’t purr when you pet them the right way. Yeah, baby. Yeah.

The issue before us would be the naming of the feline. Her name as given by the people at cat rescue is Topaz, but that lacks “schwing”. MCG prefers something with an asian flair, like “Moo Goo Gai Pan”. And while we were both highly amused with the concept of naming her “The General”, I don’t see her smoking a pipe and exclaiming “I Shall Return!” when exiting her litterbox anytime soon. So - what do you think?

  1. The general is short for General Tso. We are both bigs fans of his chicken. I vote for general. Other names that may seem more appropriate for his color like smokey, ashy, or greyey are lame. Actually, I rather like greyey.

  2. when we had a white and grey adopt us and start living under the carport, we decided that she needed a name. Being the non-creative type, I recalled from my growinz-up the French-Cajun speak of South Louisiana and named her menu (pronounced mee-noo). Translation:cat.

  3. My ex had a kitten named “Gato” once…well, he called it Gato and I called him Gateau (French for cake) because I caught him eating my cake the first day we had him.

  4. Ivana Killamause

  5. Trinity says Catado. She’s trying to figure out why it’s eyes are glowing lol It’s a very pretty cat :)

  6. Stick with Frost. I like Frost. Looks like she’s been frosting your table. hehe

  7. Our current lineup of kitties (yes, we have too many, but it’s hard to explain how I got this deep into cat-dom):

Big Dub (the previous owners called him “New Kitty” which sucked).

Flower (been her name for years before we had her)

Indy (she’s adventurous, and purrs like a racecar)

As for a name for your new cat, I would like to recommend “Major”. You can always come up with interesting things to say after Major, and General is too pretentious.

Oh and Brett, here are pics of the house Kelly and I just bought:

  8. What about Kashmir?

  9. There is only one cat name you need to consider: Dean Rooney. I am freely giving you the name we had picked for our next cat. Since I am NEVER going to have one again, you can have it.

  10. I like Topaz, personally. But this is comign from person who calls her cat “Baby Kitty” so obviously my skills in names with schwing are lacking.

I do like Frost, too. OR if she’s nice and soft name her Mink.

  11. In case anyone wants another kitty, I’ve got three of the cutest kitties in the whole wide world that I’m fostering right now. They should be ready for homes in a week or two.

    See their mugshots here.

  12. I vote for Trebek. Then you can talk to it in a Scottish accent, and let’s face it: Scottish accents have more schwing than anything.

  13. BORAT

  14. LEEEEROY JENKINS!
