First things first

- Much love to MCG for his thoughtful and provocative comments. Or something.
- I’m leaving my current job. My last day is May 1. Yes, a Monday. Yes, I’m as thrilled about that as you might imagine.
Now that we have that out of the way.
Poor MAB. It’s true, the site has languished as of late. I haven’t written any posts with real meat in them in quite a while. (Some may argue this has never occurred.) Well, if the four-plus years of this site is any indication, the only consistent thing about posting around here is the inconsistency. And that extends into my personal life as well. I know, it seems that the only time I have something to say is when I make some sort of personal shift. Just who the hell am I to talk about myself on my own blog, anyway?
I’m not going into specifics about why I’m changing employers. But I’m taking some valuable lessons with me, ones that I can apply to the “new” job. I say “new” because I’m actually going back to the previous employer. This is usually the point where I’m deliberately vague about what I’ll be doing there, so instead of the expected, I’ll leave you to fill in the blanks for me.
Not only do I know such an offer will turn ugly quickly, I’m pretty much planning for it.
