We’ve made it, finally - and thankfully. We’re gonna unload the truck, get some food, get some groceries, and crash. More when we’ve recovered.
We’ve made it, finally - and thankfully. We’re gonna unload the truck, get some food, get some groceries, and crash. More when we’ve recovered.
Oh look, my page updated finally. I wrote this because the first two didn’t take (or so I thought), but they seem to be working now. So, huzzah.
Greetings from Kansas. It’s been a rather lengthy and interesting trip so far, except for that eight hours in South Dakota. If ever you should feel like taking the world’s most uninteresting eight hour drive, get yourself to South Dakota, just outside the Black Hills, and take the drive down I-90. I thought that I-10 through Louisiana was rough - that trip ain’t got nothin’ on tha Shizzle Dizzle. Miles and miles and miles and miles of completely flat, uninteresting landscape, with nary a thing to look at beyond the occasional cornfield. The good news? I’m only making this trip once - and at least I have company, and a cat to make sure I don’t fall asleep.
Pictures? Yeah, we got a few. And we’ll be getting more. The trip is half over, and thankfully the roughest part is behind us. Three more days. I almost miss work.
Well, almost.
I tried to update this stupid thing, but it’s not going to play ball tonight. Maybe it knows I’m in Kansas. Who knows. I’ll have a real update either before I get home, or afterwards. But definitely one of the two. But the trip goes well.
It’s pretty late, so I’ll keep this brief. My flight leaves in less than nine hours. I get on a plane, fly across the country, and start a whole new chapter of my life.
Nervous? Yeah, a bit. Scared? Not really.
Ready?
Oh, yeah.
I might be able to squeeze in an update or two from the road, depending on when we get to certain places. If nothing else, you’ll hear from me when I get home in a week. I hope to have a lot of pictures, and I’m sure I’ll have some kind of ridiculous story to tell all of you.
So…let’s go.
So, welcome me to my new job - just like the old job, only with a lot less extra cash. I had to make a decision here sooner or later, as I enjoy twisting in the wind as much as I enjoy beating my skull in with a lead pipe, so I signed on with the people who have been throwing me a bone this last month or so. I’m still going to pursue outside interests that won’t interfere with what I’m doing now, so I’m still working on that “project”, which will be announced sometime before I’m forty. Or maybe after that, but definitely one of the two. In the meantime, I get to run jobs, fix PC’s, mind the office network, answer phones, do data entry, wash the dog, feed the kids, and whatever devious other things my new masters make me do.
In one week, I will be leaving the fair, sunny state of Florida - or is that the nasty, rainy state of Florida? - for scenic northern Idaho, where I shall deliver Admirer_01 (who really should be getting a better name around here one of these days) from evil. Or rather, pacific time. That’s right, I’m shackin’ up. I know my legions of 18-32 year old female fans are absolutely heartbroken over this development, but a man has to follow his heart. I would say something to the effect that you may notice a slowdown between posts until the move is complete (it’s a LONG drive from Idaho to here), but with my current rate of updates, it’s may actually seem like I’m picking up my sloth-like pace.
Oh yeah, the PC is back up and running. Only took a new motherboard and video card to get the job done…oh, and my processor works…but only when I underclock it. That along with a rather large car repair bill, and the meager amount of money I had managed to sock away has quickly poofed. I would do something retarded like toss up a Paypal donation thingy as a way to beg for extra fundage, but that’s insulting to both of us. Besides, Paypal takes a cut, and I prefer hard, untraceable cash.
Oh, and that new picture with HRC and her arms in the air? The rulest.
My apartment building took not one, but two lightning hits this afternoon, taking out my cable modem, router, and motherboard. At least, that’s what I know for sure is gone. I’ll figure out the rest once I get past that taken care of. For those of you who are wondering how I can post this in my current situation, just know that I came over to the Madre at MCG’s. Hopefully, I can get back up to speed on Monday.
