Title Goes Here

You’re welcome Zak. Just doing my part to help.

For the safety of yourself and those you love, do not purchase Uno Attack, unless you plan to spend the rest of your life saying, “OK, just one more game“. I swear, I have never played something so sickeningly addictive in my life. That stupid little Uno machine vomits out cards at the most inopportune times…either that, or one of those damn Robars rigged it. I wouldn’t put it past them, they’re conniving to the last.

Memorial Day was, quite possibly, one of the most beautiful days I’ve seen around these parts in quite a while. Of course, this may be due to the fact that I spend an inordinate amount of my time these days with my face buried in a monitor as I update web pages/design things/play EQ/chat with Admirer_01/search for a job, and I’ve just missed the other equally nice days. I can’t really answer that one. All I know is, it was gorgeous, and we all had fun tossing the Turdlet around the pool. We did not, however, have fun playing water badminton, at least not after somebody figured out how to hit the bird in that spot that neither I or my brother could reach.

I’m a pretty big fan of Alfred Hitchcock. North by Northwest is my absolute favorite, but Vertigo is a close second. So I was pretty intrigued when I stumbled across this site, which takes you on a tour of places from Vertigo, then and now, I was pretty impressed. I’ve never been to San Fransisco, but seeing how a city can change after 45 years is pretty cool.

Perhaps it’s not as cool as the Shizzolator, but crummy.com’s Eater of Meanings is cool in it’s own right. Semantically, anyway.

I live

I know everyone missed me, but last week was a very, very good one for me. No job to speak of (yet), some opportunities still sitting out there, however. Obviously, that’s not why I think it was such a good week.

This is why it was such a good week. Everyone, meet Amy, otherwise known as Admirer_01.

We’ve known each other since the end of last year, via that life-stealing entity known as EQ. We got to know each other, started talking on the phone, and somehow I talked her into taking a vacation and visiting the sunny climes of Florida, removing her from the frozen wasteland that is northern Idaho. This was after she had seen my website and everything. I didn’t know what to expect, so I kept my expectations to a minimum until she got here. We visited friends, went to the beach, and caught the Jerry Seinfeld show in Orlando. We talked at lenght about everything under the sun. We enjoyed each other’s company. I’m not going into detail here - while this is a public forum for me to broadcast my life to anyone who might care to listen, some things get to stay mine. Let’s just say my phone bill isn’t getting any smaller anytime soon.

I know I’ve kept this under wraps from a lot of people, including some in my own family. It’s not because I didn’t want to tell all of you, because I did. But I didn’t want to make this a big thing and then it not work out. But now that it has happened, and things are…well…wonderful, I’m letting the cat out of the bag. The Brat may now commence the e-mail/phone call barrage.

We also caught a couple movies, so you know what that means - stop, haiku time! X2:

Would my ability
to shed hair off of my head
make me a mutant?

I know you’ve already seen it: The Matrix Reloaded

I’ll trade all Neo’s
powers for a key that
opens the damn plot.

Anyone feel like they fast-forwarded through the last hour of that movie? They spend ten minutes on a long, pointless dance/sex scene, but spend thirty seconds setting up the attack to get Neo into the Source? Prioritites, people. If I want to see topless girls dancing to music, I’ll go elsewhere.

And there you have it. Admirer_01 has returned to the frozen north, and I return to hunting for a job. Life carries on - but now, it has just a bit more purpose.

Every time I try to get out…

First and foremost: A sincere apology to Jefe, who’s 30th birthday party I missed recently. Sorry bro, this whole job thing has got my head spinning, and I didn’t realize until yesterday exactly what I had done. Amends will be made - I’ll be in touch.

So, I’m sort of working for my old company again.

It’s half pay, which means half (or less) of the work from me. It’s substance until I find something a little more permanent. It’s my former employer’s way of saying, “think long and hard about what you want to do next with your life. Are you sure you know what you want?” Mind you, this was after my second straight day of driving to Inverness, a 90 minute trek into the heart of a bustling metropolis…well, ok, maybe not, but they do have an Applebee’s. At any rate, I could tell he knew I wasn’t too happy about the drive, and he also knew that Joe needs my help for certain things. So the gesture is appreciated.

Another opportunity may have cropped up, but I have yet to hear more info on it, beyond “expect a phone call from…”. But opportunities are appearing, which is a lot better than where I was a couple weeks ago.

MCG, Emily’s Mom, and Her Royal Cuteness will be traveling to the great state of Georgia to be with the Madre this weekend for Mother’s Day. I was originally planning on going, but circumstances dictate that I stay in town over the weekend. Good circumstances. I don’t mean to be cryptic, I just don’t want to jinx anything, despite the overwhelming desire to blurt it out on here in a twelve page essay that will bore everyone but myself to tears. Everyone gets to find out soon enough. Patience, grasshoppah.

I think I found up

Still here. Still glad to meet ya.

Sorry, seems I haven’t been to keen to update this week, mainly becuase I don’t have much to report here. The hunt continues, but there are some lights on the horizon. A small one nearby, a larger one a bit further off, and a potentially huge one way back in the distance. More on those as they get a bit more concrete.

There’s also something else coming next weekend…it’s something different, but could have just as much impact, if not more, as any of the aforementioned items.

Sorry, I’m not trying to be cryptic here, but until agreements are made, none of these things actually exist yet, and I’d hate to jinx them by saying more than I should. But I’m still living, but if the first three things should just poof into thin air, I still have a fallback plan. And if the last thing poofs…well…

Well, since I’ve had lots of free time, that means only one thing: more links! First off, this is an absolutely amazing animation. Getting fired means never having to say you’re sorry. Finally, an inquiry into the social habits of the elusive Peep. And finally, the most addictive game ever.

Ok, so not that many links this time. Sue me.
